Baking fund raiser

Our baking sale is going really great, thanks to all the hard work the community has been putting into it. We sold around 200 loaves so far! The funds are going to the APTC.

Patty Little got all this started when she suggested getting serious about selling Zucchini Bread as a way to raise funds. She then went right ahead and sold 11 loaves right away! The enthusiastic email campaign led by the APTC folks then got things rolling.

The baking itself was great fun, even if a lot of work! Debbie’s FEAST kitchen students had a good time learning to bake the cake. The kids did a great job, and turned quite a few loaves.

Parents got really involved. Ana Ochoa worked quite a lot and helped other Latino families get involved in baking and selling. Could not have done it without her. Diana, Renee, and Richard worked together cooking and selling.

Marci Baer managed the school sales, besides helping out in the kitchen too! She worked a lot to make this a success.

For sales outside the school, our top salesperson by far is Renee Brum (Randi’s mom). This woman has singlehandedly sold no less than 65 loaves of Zucchini Bread so far!!

We’ll continue to involve more parents and see if we can reach 500 loaves by the end of the year. It is an ambitious goal, but together we can do it!!
